Tottenham are looking to act quick and land OGC Nice striker Evann Guessand in the summer
Tottenham are finally making use of the time given in the summer to make transfers. The Lilywhites endured a slow start to the transfer window after Ange Postecoglou was sacked earlier last month. The North London club wanted to sort out the managerial situation at N17 before making any moves for new players. However, Daniel Levy failed to be proactive in the window even after hiring Thomas Frank as the new manager.
But the Spurs chairman is finally signing players quickly and backing the Danish tactician as the new season is just around the corner. The North London club quickly managed to confirm the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham earlier this week. Now that the right-flank is covered, the Lilywhites must shift their focus on a new striker.
Spurs need a good number nine that could compete with Dominic Solanke for a spot in the starting eleven. With Richarlison not being able to take his chances at N17, it is best for everyone involved that Daniel Levy brings in a new striker that would replace the Brazil international in the squad and give Solanke a run for his money.

There is no surprise that Tottenham are looking to add more firepower up front after enduring a disastrous domestic campaign. The Lilywhites need a new player that would keep Solanke on his toes, as well as, replace Richarlison in the squad as the Brazilian head for a potential exit.
It was reported earlier that Spurs had identified OGC Nice striker Evann Guessand as the perfect replacement of Richarlison. The Ivorian star has quickly made a name for himself in France, scoring 13 goals and providing nine assists last season. And it is fair to say that the Lilywhites took notice of that, as OGC Nice slammed an asking price of £20-£25m for the striker.
Now, there is a new update regarding the transfer saga involving Guessand. As per Africa Foot, Spurs are now preparing an initial bid for the 24-year-old in the coming days. The Lilywhites are willing to offer £22m for his services, as they look to bolster the attack for next season. The aforementioned report also states that Fenerbahce are also in the running to sign the Ivorian striker in the summer.
It is believed that the North London club would only pursue a deal for the OGC Nice striker if they fail to land Brentford star Yoane Wissa in the coming days. Spurs are trying to keep their options open as they look to cover all areas of the pitch for next season. Signing Evann Guessand on a cheap deal would be a smart move, as the 24-year-old clearly has his best days ahead of him.
The prolific strike is quick and direct, and he also likes to take on the defenders. Having Guessand as an option on the bench would be beneficial for Thomas Frank, as he could always call upon him to run at tired defenders and cause havoc in the final third of pitch.
