Tottenham are considering a move for Brentford forward Yoane Wissa
Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer window is starting to take shape as they confirmed their biggest signing so far this summer on Thursday. They announced the arrival of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United on a long-term contract.
After weeks of negotiations with West Ham, Spurs came out on top and managed to lower the asking price significantly to land Kudus. But now, Daniel Levy is in mood to stop and wants to bolster the forward line further after the Ghanaian international’s acquisition.
They clearly need an upgrade on Richarlison, who has persistently been injured over the last two years at White Hart Lane. Besides, Son Heung-min is facing an uncertain future amid recent interest from Major Soccer League.

Recent reports suggest Tottenham are interested in signing Brentford forward Yoane Wissa. The North Londoners were ‘weighing up financials’ attached to a potential deal for the DR Congo international.
Yoane Wissa has been a consistent performer for the Bees, scoring 45 goals in 137 Premier League appearances thus far. in the wake of Ivan Toney’s departure to the Saudi Pro League, he built a lethal partnership with Bryan Mbeumo up front last season, with the duo creating and scoring plenty of goals. The African forward finished the 2024/25 campaign with 19 goals and four assists in 35 Premier League outings.
Yoane Wissa pushing to join Tottenham
Now, according to a report from talkSPORT, Wissa is ‘pushing to leave’ Brentford and reunite with Thomas Frank at Spurs. Frank, too, wants to team up with the Congolese having spent four years managing him at Brentford.

It is under Frank’s watchful eyes that the 28-year-old has developed into such a reliable goalscorer in the Premier League in recent years. Regardless, he still remains criminally underrated, and after spending four seasons with the Bees, Wissa may want to play in the Champions League and challenge for trophies.

Tottenham would be able to provide the France-born star with the platform to achieve those. The forward is approaching 29 and can easily give at least three seasons at the top level for Spurs. However, the aforementioned report adds Brentford are demanding £50 million to allow Wissa to leave this summer.
£50 million is a lot for a forward set to turn 29 in September, so if the Lilywhites can negotiate that price down to £40 million, a deal for Wissa would then become practical. Not to forget, the African poacher pushing to team up with Frank is great news for Tottenham as it will give them a bit of leverage when negotiating terms with Brentford.
