Tottenham Hotspur have made a solid reinforcement to their squad this summer by signing Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United. However, the North London club will be the first ones to admit that it isn’t sufficient and that they need to make more moves between now and the end of the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Thomas Frank continues to train the squad and prepare them for the upcoming season. There will be a lot of eyes on Spurs this upcoming 2025/26 season to see how they perform after breaking their trophy curse by winning the Europa League final against Manchester United last campaign.
Meanwhile, it looks like work is going behind the scenes on potential reinforcements. Now, as per journalist Ben Jacobs on We Are Tottenham TV, the club’s unofficial advisor, Fabio Paratici, has held talks with the camp of Real Madrid superstar Rodrygo over a potential move to the N17. The Brazilian doesn’t seem to be in the plans of Xabi Alonso.
Paratici holds talks with Rodrygo’s camp

Here is what Jacobs had to say:
“When Rodrygo makes up his mind he’ll understand who actually wants him and who doesn’t. The only conversation that has taken place between the Rodrygo camp and somebody connected to Tottenham is via Fabio Paratici.”
“Not Daniel Levy, nobody who is at the moment a full-time staff member. I don’t see this one developing, the player may prove to be open to the Premier League, but we’ll have to wait and see.”
The €90m-rated Real Madrid star is an excellent player in his own right. Rodrygo has failed to gain the kind of recognition that he normally should have due to getting lost in the shadows of the likes of Vinicius Jr., Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham. This has resulted in the 24-year-old being sacrificed often.
Getting lost in the shadows
Stylistically, Rodrygo is very similar to both Vinicius and Mbappe. All three of them are right-footed wingers who prefer to play on the left, and with the exception of his Brazilian counterpart, no one else gets to play in their preferred position. During the Club World Cup, Xabi Alonso used the Tottenham target very sparingly.
Without a doubt, if Rodrygo does become available this summer, he would cost a fortune for Tottenham to sign. However, he would the kind of ceiling-raising player who can take Spurs to he next level. Thus, the club should push to try and convince him to continue his career in North London.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Rodrygo. The next few weeks should provide a clearer picture of what the future holds for the Brazilian attacker and let’s wait and see if he is seen wearing a Tottenham jersey next season.
