Dominic Solanke looks set to return for Tottenham Hotspur vs Bayern Munich
Tottenham Hotspur supporters just enjoyed a massive win over archrivals Arsenal in a North London derby that was played far away from the English shores. And while going into that UEFA Super Cup, this win brings a massive boost of confidence, but there is still a hint of worry among the Lilywhites surrounding the fitness of striker Dominik Solanke.
Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank, speaking in his post-match press conference, insisted that the former Bournemouth centre forward is not far off a return to action. He said:
“He’s close, if not for Sunday then he should be fit to play against Bayern.
The Dane head coach speaking about that pencilled-in return to action for Solanke for the upcoming game against Bayern Munich is a huge welcome sign. And given that Solanke has been sitting on the sidelines for the past couple of games as a precaution, it shows that he is quite on track to starting to get some minutes under his belt.
Solanke could add another layer to the current structure

Honestly, the 27-year-old’s comeback could not be better timed given that we are seeing Kudus putting in some impressive performances and Odobert also looking really good on that left flank. And the North Londoners’ attack is starting to take shape as Thomas Frank gets more options up front. And given how Tottenham are playing under the new head coach, Solanke will be more than just a goalscorer.
The England international has the ability to press whilst holding the ball and stretching defences, which offers you a different dynamic, especially given how the experiment of playing a fluid front three with midfield runners continues under the incoming head coach.
All eyes on that Bayern game

If everything goes as per plan, then we will see Solanke return against Bayern, which should be the first glimpse of how the England international will be playing in the current structure. And it will be more of a litmus test on whether he is ready to be back and ready to participate in that massive Super Cup game against PSG.
And this update from Frank is such a reassurance for all the Tottenham supporters, and this one again resets expectations. Suddenly you are going into the prep for PSG with excitement, given that when Solanke is back, Tottenham will have one more weapon who is locked and loaded to make a big impact at N17.
