Tottenham have been backed to finish in European places in Thomas Frank’s first season in charge of the club
The new season is upon us, and Tottenham Hotspur are still scrambling for signings that could help Thomas Frank in his first campaign at N17. With the summer window entering its final weeks, Daniel Levy is coming under immense scrutiny for not delivering the players the head coach wants.
The fans are running out of patience with the club’s slow approach in the transfer market, something chairman Daniel Levy is hoping to change with some quick additions. Not one club official needs reminding where Spurs finished in the Premier League last season. While the Europa League trophy ended their 17-year-long wait for silverware, it was still not enough for Ange Postecoglou to keep his job at White Hart Lane.
Nonetheless, a new era in the white half of North London is about to begin, and the appointment of Thomas Frank as Ange Postecoglou’s successor has provided reason for optimism within the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium faithful. This is because the Danish tactician’s great work for seven years across the capital with Brentford, solidifying them as a mid-table side in the league after promotion in 2021.

Pundit thinks Tottenham can clinch European football under Thomas Frank
Now, Gary Lineker has provided his thoughts on where Spurs will finish in Frank’s first season in charge. Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, the English pundit predicted that the Lilywhites could clinch European qualification.
“I’d sense an improvement will happen this season. I think they’ll be well-organised; probably play slightly differently to they did under big Ange, Gary Lineker said on the Rest is Football podcast.
“Big improvement incoming, I think the European spots are what I’m gonna go for.”

Tottenham require new signings to compete on all fronts
All eyes will firmly be on Frank on how he develops this Spurs side and makes them competitive in the Premier League in his maiden campaign at N17. Levy is keen to build on the Europa League success, and he has also said that Tottenham will look to fight hard for the Premier League title and the Champions League title under Frank. For that to happen, the Spurs chairman must back our gaffer with more new signings.
Son Heung-min exiting the club after 10 years, coupled with James Maddison’s long-term knee injury, has left the north Londoners in a bad position ahead of the start of the 2025/26 campaign. They will have to fill the void created by Son and Maddison in the squad, as the Danish tactician requires more than the likes of Mathys Tel, Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha.
As such, Tottenham are reportedly in talks with Manchester City over a deal for Savinho. It will be interesting to see if we can pull off Savinho’s signing.
