Tottenham Hotspur must have decided to keep Luka Vuskovic at N17 this summer
Tottenham are in no rush to lose any of their players on a temporary or a permanent basis. The Lilywhites are looking to build a squad that is capable of competing hard on all four fronts this season. And to achieve that, Thomas Frank will need to count on every member of the first-team squad as each player will have an important role to play in one way or the other.
That is the exact reason why departures not been prioritised yet, especially for defenders. The North London club endured an injury crisis at the back last season under Ange Postecoglou. Almost all first-team centre-backs were forced to sit on the sidelines for one reason or another as Spurs finished just a place above the relegation zone.

However, the Lilywhites are stacked at the back this season under Thomas Frank. Experienced players, merged with a few talented youngsters, will form the core of the defence as Thomas Frank prepares for his first season in charge of Tottenham. One of the youngsters that is going to be in the media headlines till the transfer window shuts is Luka Vuskovic.
Tottenham might have decided to keep Luka Vuskovic despite HSV Hamburg agreement
Tottenham talent Luka Vuskovic has been in the media spotlight for quite some time now as his immediate future remains uncertain. The teenage sensation has gained experience beyond his years and the Lilywhites need to decide whether to keep him on board this season or let him leave for pastures new to gain experience. Last season, Vuskovic showcased his true potential while being out on loan for KVC Westerlo.
It was reported earlier that Spurs were open to let Vuskovic leave the club on loan for this season. The Lilywhites wanted him to gain experience and get exposed to playing in a similar setup regularly. The report also stated that the Croatian agreed personal terms with German club HSV Hamburg. Vuskovic’s brother, who also plays for the German club, also stated that the defender would love to play for Hamburg.
However, a new update has emerged regarding Luka Vuskovic’s immediate future. As per MOPO, Tottenham have gone ‘radio silent’ and are showing no signs of letting Luka Vuskovic leave on loan in the coming days. As days go by, HSV Hamburg’s hierarchy are being forced to believe that the deal will not go through due to lack of communication from Spurs’ side. The German club has also started looking at alternatives to sign instead as they expect the deal to have fallen through.
So, what does this mean for Luka Vuskovic? Well, it might be a blessing in disguise for the 18-year-old as Thomas Frank must have decided to keep the player in and around the first-team setup. The Croatian certainly has all the ingredients to become a regular starter for the Lilywhites in the future, and learning from the best week in week out will only help him develop his game.
