Fabrizio Romano claims Richarlison will stay at Tottenham Hotspur this summer
The attack is one of the areas of their team for which Tottenham Hotspur are still looking for reinforcements in this late stage of the summer transfer window. This is despite the good offensive performances that Thomas Frank’s team has put in in two of their first Premier League matches of the 2025-26 season.
In the opening match of the new campaign, Spurs emerged victorious with a 3-0 win over Burnley. Then, they passed another early but very tough test in the new season as they beat Manchester City with a 2-0 scoreline in the second game of the league campaign.
However, the Lilywhites would ideally want another playmaker in their team before the summer transfer window closes, especially as James Maddison is out with an injury and is set to spend a significant time on the sidelines.
Still, the team’s attack has flowed well even without a new playmaker, and one forward player who has performed particularly well in this early phase of the season is the Brazilian forward Richarlison.
The experienced striker scored two eye-catching goals in the game against Burnley before getting an assist to his name in the match against City. Overall, his exploits in these two matches have been quite encouraging, and with these performances, reports linking him with a departure have significantly slowed down.

Fabrizio Romano rules out a Tottenham exit for the Brazilian forward
Still, Newcastle United have recently been touted as one of the sides interested in the forward. However, as per a report from TBR Football, Fabrizio Romano has ruled out any such move for Richarlison. Talking about the Tottenham forward, Romano said:
“Look, every summer we have rumours about Richarlison leaving. Every transfer window, January, summer, is always about that.
“But then it’s never close because the player is very happy at Tottenham and I’m hearing that Thomas Frank is also very happy with him.
“So I’m not sure he’s leaving. I also heard some rumours about a Newcastle player maybe being included in some deal. But I’m told that this is not the case.
“Richarlison is very happy at Tottenham. I see him staying and I see Tottenham signing two players up front before the end of the season, but not losing Richarlison.”
Recently, Thomas Frank himself had made it clear that Richarlison was focused fully on playing for Tottenham, and now Fabrizio Romano’s statement also confirm that the Brazilian is set to be a part of the Spurs team for at least the next winter transfer window.
Hopefully, the forward will continue with the good form he has showcased in this early part of the season and prove to be a crucial contributor as Tottenham compete for the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League titles.
