Tottenham Hotspur are all set to miss out on Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo
The clock ticks on as Tottenham’s chances of signing a new attacker vanish in thin air. The Lilywhites are still looking for an opportunity to find a quality player so late in the window. And it is fair to suggest that Daniel Levy is mainly to blame for how bad this summer has been for the North London club. They still need one or two more signings to convert the squad into capable challengers on all four fronts.
There is no surprise that Spurs are looking to sign a left-winger, as well as, a #10. With only a handful of days remaining before the transfer window shuts shop, the only way to cover those areas is by signing a player that is versatile enough to play in both those positions. As of now, there are not many options in the market that could play that role effortlessly.

Thomas Frank relies on his wide players a lot for build-up play and creating goal-scoring chances. The attack is free-flowing with a natural #10 drifting into the space left behind by the winger, giving the opposition defenders plenty to ponder about. But with Heung-Min Son’s departure and James Maddison’s ACL injury, Thomas Frank has not gotten the chance to start a strong starting eleven yet.
Bournemouth brush off Tottenham’s interest in Antoine Semenyo
It was reported earlier this week that Spurs were willing to address the attacking issue and look to sign Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo. The Ghana international was previously linked with a move to N17, before snubbing the Lilywhites and signing a new contract with the Cherries earlier in the summer. However, that has not stopped Tottenham from contacting Bournemouth again for Semenyo’s services this week.
But it is again déjà vu for Spurs as they look all set to miss out on the 25-year-old. Asper Graeme Bailey (via TBR Football),
“Bournemouth sources have literally laughed off suggestions that Semenyo could leave and indeed at Spurs’ end they also played it down.”
Well, the reliable journalist is stating what every Spurs fan had already hinted. The Lilywhites are clearly in panic mode right now following Eberechi Eze’s last-minute snub. And it looks like Daniel Levy is targeting any player that is in his radar to try and lure them to N17. It is a total mess at Hotspur Way and the club only has a handful of days to rectify it before the transfer window shuts shop for the summer.
Another player that the North London club could go for is AS Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche. The Frenchman has made some waves in Ligue 1, and Spurs have taken notice of that as well. The Lilywhites are trying hard to land the talented winger as a potential replacement of Heung-Min Son in the starting eleven.
