Randal Kolo Muani is looking to make an instant impact at Tottenham under Thomas Frank
Tottenham managed to address their issues up front by bringing in Randal Kolo Muani from PSG on deadline day. The France international has joined the Lilywhites on a season-long loan, with the North London club not having the option to retain him on a permanent basis. The arrival of the 26-year-old to N17 was also one of the last pieces of business Daniel Levy did before departing the club.
Not many fans expected Spurs to go all-in for a new striker, considering the form Richarlison has been in. The Brazilian has been one of the standout players under Thomas Frank this season, and has shown no signs of slowing down anytime soon. However, the decision to sign Kolo Muani was taken when Dominic Solanke suffered a setback while recovering from his ankle injury earlier this month.

With Thomas Frank indicating that a need for a new forward was not urgent, Spurs still went into the market and brought in Kolo Muani. It is essentially a risk-free deal as the 26-year-old is just on a season-long loan. However, fans will hope that Kolo Muani manages to prove his worth at N17 this season, so that Spurs can open talks to sign him permanently next summer.
Tottenham pulled off a miracle by signing Randal Kolo Muani
Signing Randal Kolo Muani in the summer might just prove to be a masterstroke due to his versatility. The Frenchman can either play as a left-winger, or as an out-and-out #9. And this is something that Thomas Frank will dearly cherish as he wants his players to be fluid and take up different positions during the game.
Now, John Wenham has praised Spurs’ acquisition of Kolo Muani on a season-long loan. Speaking to Tottenham News, Wenham said,
“There’s an argument that he will become our best striker as well. The fact that he can play left wing as well is a bonus. So Kolo Muani is somebody we’ve been linked with since Frankfurt. PSG spent around £77million on him.”
The Lilywhite Rose owner added,
“Only a couple of years ago. Tottenham have got, or should I say Levy had an outstanding relationship with PSG. We’ve seen multiple deals between the two clubs in recent years. So really impressive that we managed to get him on loan.”
John Wenham believes Randal Kolo Muani will become the main #9 at N17 in no time. The Lilywhite Rose has reminded the fans that the Frenchman was linked with a move to Spurs since his Eintracht Frankfurt days. And Wenham is impressed with the North London club’s ability to pull off this deal after having an ‘outstanding’ relationship with PSG.
All eyes will be on Kolo Muani as he looks to pave his way in the Premier League and make an instant impact. The 26-year-old has a lot of potential, and he has shown time and again that he can be a regular starter for any club in Europe. So, fans will hope that he leads the club from the front and manages to prove his worth under Thomas Frank.
