Thomas Frank will want Tottenham to compete hard on all four fronts and go deep in every competition this season
Tottenham look a completely different side under Thomas Frank this season. After how last season turned out for the Lilywhites in domestic competitions, fans would be happy to see their team perform with a clear plan under the Danish tactician. The North London club have managed to register two wins out of three Premier League games already this time around.
The performances against Burnley and Manchester City were quite reassuring for the Spurs faithful. The Lilywhites managed to dominate both games, and the players were also looking comfortable while executing the game plan. The fluidity and tactical tweaks from Thomas Frank during the games was the standout point, as the ex-Brentford boss made the team play in cohesion.

However, things took an unexpected turn in Tottenham’s clash against Bournemouth. By the looks of it, the players got complacent and let the Cherries dominate the game from the get-go. Andoni Iraola’s side were ahead in all the statistics that mattered, and the loud jeers from the Spurs faithful at the end of the game was a clear indication that the Lilywhites’ performance was below-par.
Tottenham still in prime position to finish in the top of the PL table
Despite the poor performance against Bournemouth, there are clear signs of improvement by Tottenham under Thomas Frank. The players are playing to their strengths, and there is less chaos on the pitch. Not only that, but the Danish tactician has brought in a clear gameplan that the players seem to be following rather thoroughly.
Taking notice of that, Spurs legend Gerry Armstrong has predicted where the Lilywhites will end up finishing this season. Speaking to Capital Football, Armstrong said,
“Tottenham have a lot of work to be done but they have the potential to be a very good side. I think it’s something Thomas Frank is going to work out. Tottenham have been impressive!”
The Spurs legend added,
“They’ve had a good start [but] disappointing we couldn’t have more shots against Bournemouth. But they have a great side and should do well this year. I expect them to finish in the top-four or five.”
Gerry Armstrong believes that Tottenham can become a great side once Thomas Frank works out how to get the best out of the players on a regular basis. The club legend admits that the result against Bournemouth was disappointing, but the Lilywhites have been ‘impressive’ overall this season. Armstrong expects the North London club to finish in a Champions League spot this year, provided they maintain their performance levels consistently.
Well, Thomas Frank has also indicated that he aims to compete hard on all four fronts this season. It is easier said than done, but the Danish tactician has all the capabilities to lead the Lilywhites from the front and build on the Europa League success. A top-half finish this season in the Premier League will surely be deemed as a success for the ex-Brentford boss.
