Tottenham Hotspur could still utilise Yves Bissouma effectively if the midfielder stays put at N17
Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma is yet to feature for the club under Thomas Frank this season. The Mali international is neither enduring a long-term injury, nor is he suffering from an illness that has ruled him out of the team for the time being. But it is his lack of discipline that has forced Thomas Frank to banish from first-team duties during the start of the new campaign.
The 28-year-old has surely fallen down the pecking order under the Danish tactician without playing a single game for him. And his omission from the Champions League squad for this season is a clear indication that there is almost no way back. The Spurs No.8 is heavily linked with a move as well, despite the transfer window closing on September 1st.

Well, one can say that Bissouma never really managed to replicate the same form that he once showed during his time at Brighton. The Mali international has had a few purple patches during his time at N17, but there was never a consistent run of games where he looked solid. And now there is almost a certainty that there is no way back for the midfielder under Thomas Frank.
Yves Bissouma is not giving up on his Tottenham career
As we all know, Tottenham are trying their best to offload Yves Bissouma for quite some time now. The Lilywhites have failed to find him a new club despite placing him on the transfer market early on in the summer. And with only one year remaining in his existing deal, the North London club runs the risk of letting the Malian go for free next summer.
However, there is still a possibility that Bissouma manages to turn it around at N17. As per The Sun, the 28-year-old is determined to fight his way back into the squad and prove his worth to Thomas Frank. The ex-Brighton star believes he can still contribute to the team once he is up and running, and he can provide good depth in the middle of the park for this season.
Reintegrating Yves Bissouma back into the squad might not be a bad idea, considering the fact that he played a vital role for Spurs in the Europa League last season. The prolific midfielder was crucial in the latter stages of the competition for Ange Postecoglou. And at one point, he was one of the first names on the team-sheet under the Australian tactician.
Bissouma’s ability to cover the ground up and break up opposition play might come in handy for Thomas Frank going forward. With Joao Palhinha currently being preferred in the #6, the Malian would provide good depth in that position once Palhinha needs to be rested for certain games. Not only that, but the ex-Brighton star is technically sound on the ball as well, giving the Danish tactician plenty to ponder about in the coming days.
