Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has given a reassuring injury update on Dominic Solanke
After a two-week international break, Tottenham Hotspur resume their Premier League duties on Saturday evening. They travel for a London derby against West Ham United, aiming to bounce back to winning ways.
Several Spurs stars had left the club to represent their nations for the World Cup qualifiers. Fortunately, everyone returned to Hotspur Way with no fresh injury concerns from international duty, which will be a welcome boost as Thomas Frank looks to pick his first derby side.
The Lilywhites racked up six points from their opening two games, beating Burnley and Manchester City in the process. However, their winning start to the new season came to an end at the hands of Bournemouth, who beat Thomas Frank’s side 1-0 at home before the international break. So, Tottenham must be looking to put things right at the weekend.

Thomas Frank gives positive injury update on Dominic Solanke
Frank has several players still on the sidelines and won’t be participating against West Ham. Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison are long-term casualties, while summer signing Kota Takai continues his rehab from an ankle problem that has kept him out since the start of pre-season.
Destiny Udogie recovered from his problem and featured as a substitute against Bournemouth, but Dominic Solanke missed out. The England international picked up a minor ankle issue that was enough to rule him out for the visit of his former club before the international break. However, recent reports suggested the striker’s ankle issue was serious than first anticipated and could lead to surgery.
Now, Frank has provided an encouraging injury update on Dominic Solanke. He says the centre-forward will miss the trip to West Ham but won’t be out for “too long”.
“Everyone is fine. Everyone returned from international duties well. Dom will not be available still. Don’t expect it to be long but he will not be ready for this game,” Frank said in his pre-match press conference.

Tottenham have enough firepower to hurt West Ham
Frank has given a reassuring update on Solanke’s injury, ruling out the chances of an ankle surgery. Going by the Dane’s words, we could expect the club-record signing to return later this month or maximum by the start of October.
Without the services of Solanke, the Tottenham gaffer has to rely on the likes of Richarlison, Brennan Johnson and Mathys Tel for goals in the upcoming games. New signings Randal Kolo Muani and Xavi Simons, who have bolstered our attacking unit, are also ready to feature, and the duo will want to make a mark against the Hammers.
All in all, Frank certainly has enough firepower in his squad to beat Graham Potter’s side and win the bragging rights at the London Stadium.
