Tottenham outcast Yves Bissouma will not return to action until October due to knee injury
Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank has not had the luxury of a fully fit squad since the pre-season.
Dejan Kulusevski, Radu Dragusin and James Maddison have all been injured since last season and yet to see competitive action under the Danish tactician. Maddison returned to action in July in pre-season tour of Asia, only to suffer an ACL damage. Dominic Solanke and Destiny Udogie also missed majority of the pre-season and start of the new campaign.
Another player who has not seen competitive action so far this campaign is Yves Bissouma.
Thomas Frank dropped Yves Bissouma from the squad against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup in August due to persistent lateness. He was made available for transfer all summer, and despite interest from several clubs across Europe and Saudi Arabia, the combative midfielder has not moved on and still remains on the club’s payroll.
The Mali international was heavily linked with a move to Fenerbahce in the summer. The Turkish club had been looking to sign the 29-year-old from Spurs, but then they had some concerns over his fitness during medical tests, which forced them to abandon their pursuit. Their president Ali Koc lifted the lid on the Bissouma transfer saga, revealing Fenerbahce came agonisingly close to landing him before an untimely injured scraped the deal.

Yves Bissouma out of action until October
The details of Bissouma’s injury has now come in front, which was unknown to the Tottenham fans. According to an exclusive report from Africa Foot, a knee injury is expected to keep Bissouma out of action until October. It was this knee issue that ruined his plans to leave N17 this summer.
Having entered the final year of his deal, Tottenham wished to cash him in and get a decent fee in this past transfer window. Their plans to get rid of the player and his wages has been ruined by an untimely knee problem, with Frank accepting the fact that the African enforcer will now be a part of his squad moving forward.
Bissouma’s failed move to Fenerbahce means Frank will have to integrate him into the squad after he returns from injury in October. But the association is likely to be until January, with the report adding that the player is interested in leaving Spurs to revive his career. The 29-year-old, who received offers from Premier League clubs, including Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Chelsea, has expressed his desire to continue his career in England.

Is there a way back for Bissouma?
Spurs would have loved to cash Bissouma in and get a fee, but an unfortunate knee injury denied them a chance. The Mali star is out-of-favour under Frank and annoyed him with his persistent indiscipline at the start of the season; so even when he recovers from his injury, he is unlikely to get much game time.
The Hotspur Way chiefs must now hope Bissouma gets offers to leave in January as losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season will represent bad business. Let’s see what happens.
