Tottenham fans are eagerly waiting for Dejan Kulusevski to return to full fitness in the coming months
Tottenham have managed to back Thomas Frank by signing some quality players in the summer transfer window. The Lilywhites needed to address the issues up front, and they did exactly that by bringing in the likes of Xavi Simons, Randal Kolo Muani, and Mohammed Kudus. The high-profile signings have certainly got the Spurs fans excited for this season as the club looks to build on their Europa League success.
But with all the limelight on the new signings, some of Spurs’ older players have been swept under the rug, including experienced attacker Dejan Kulusevski. Let’s not forget the Sweden international’s key role in helping the Lilywhites win the Europa League last season. The 25-year-old was unfortunate to miss out on the final, but he more than played his part in the club’s profound success.

Despite enduring a disappointing domestic campaign last season, Kulusevski was one of the shining lights for the North London club. His versatility and consistent impact on the pitch turned him into a fan-favourite at N17. Not only that, but the Sweden international also managed to become one of the first names on the team-sheet, highlighting his importance in the team.
Dejan Kulusevski would provide a different dynamic to Tottenham
Credit where its due, Thomas Frank has managed to find a way to fill the void left behind by James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski in the starting eleven. Both players are out injured due to long-term injuries, with no one knowing the exact timeframe of their return dates. However, the latter has provided a glimmer of hope by releasing a statement that suggests he would be back on the pitch in no time.
John Wenham believes Dejan Kulusevski will become a mainstay in the starting eleven once he returns to full fitness. Speaking to Tottenham News, Wenham said,
“I think you’ll always find a place for a player of these really unique characteristics in terms of the ability to get goals, his creativity, his strength, his leadership. I think he ticks so many boxes.”
The Lilywhite Rose owner added,
“He’s such a good player to the point where, you know, he wouldn’t look out of place at Man City or any other massive club. I think he’s that good. So I’m sure when he’s back, he will come back into our team and will be an outstanding contributor as he always is.”
John Wenham believes Dejan Kulusevski’s ability on and off the ball will always help him land a prominent role under Thomas Frank at Tottenham. The Lilywhite Rose owner backs the Swede’s potential, suggesting that the 25-year-old would also start for a team like Manchester City. Wenham indicates that the prolific attacker would prove to be a ‘outstanding contributor’ for the North London club once he returns to full fitness.
Thomas Frank is the perfect manager to bring the best out of Kulusevski. The Danish tactician wants players that are versatile enough to operate in different systems during games. And let’s not forget that Kulusevski has already shown he can easily operate either as a #10, #8, or on the right-flank. His technical ability on the ball, along with his work ethic, make him an ideal candidate to play an important role under Frank.
