Thomas Frank opens up on Tottenham Hotspur’s start to the 2025/26 season
Many fans were not happy when Tottenham Hotspur board decided to sack Ange Postecoglou after he delivered the club’s first trophy in 17 years last season.
Ange Postecoglou kept his word of winning a trophy in his second season at clubs and guided Spurs to the Europa League success. However, the club finishing 17th in the Premier League was unacceptable and they decided to part ways with the Australian tactician. In came Thomas Frank from Brentford in June and he has quickly managed to win over the Tottenham fans with his tactics, adaptability, pragmatism and man-management skills.
Under the Danish tactician, the Lilywhites have won five, lost one and drawn one in the opening seven games in all competitions. They have kept five clean sheets in seven matches, with strong defensive organisation and resilience being the major positives from the 51-year-old’s early tenure in north London.

Thomas Frank happy with Tottenham’s start to the new season
The Tottenham players are enjoying working under Thomas Frank as well. Summer signing Joao Palhinha, who has made an immediate impact at the club, praised the Danish boss’s “human side” while managing the players.
Ahead of Tottenham hosting Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday evening, Frank was asked what he made of the start his team has made to the new season. The Spurs boss said to Sky Sports News:
“Very happy with the start, I would put it this way. Um, I think this result has been fine. I think performance has overall been good.
“I like that most of the performance has been solid good. There’s only one bad out of seven games I think now in total. So hopefully we can keep the bad ones away to only one a season and then just have solid good performances, keep building, keep adding layers.”
Frank has said that he wants Tottenham to be competitive in all competitions. The north London side have opened both Champions League and the Carabao Cup with victories, as the Danish tactician hopes to build on the Europa League success. Winning trophies is the ultimate goal of any club, but the reality is cup competitions are extremely fickle, and the league table is much better an indicator of how the team is performing.
So far, things have gone very well for the Europa League winners. Frank could not have asked for a better start to his chapter in N17, and with new signings slowly starting to gel and the team cohesion improving, things are looking bright for Tottenham.
