Harry Kane will want to win trophies as Tottenham Hotspur plot sensational 2026 swoop
We are already looking at Harry Kane writing and rewriting records with his current employers at Bayern Munich. But we have seen reports resurface about a possible deal which could see the England skipper return back to Hotspur Way when next summer comes around (provided Thomas Frank & Co. can prove that they can compete at the very top).
And given that the Lilywhites faithful are excited about the prospects of having the Englishman back at N17, now transfer correspondent at Football Insider Pete O’Rourke has warned the North Londoners. He insists that while Tottenham are “in the mix” to bring their record goalscorer back to Hotspur Way, Harry Kane will only consider coming back if he feels that his former employers can match his ambitions to win silverware.
All cards in Kane hands

The 32-year-old has been boasting a splendid record for the German giants. He has netted 100 goals for Bayern Munich, and that is only in 104 games. That is the fastest century of goals per game in history for one club. This shows that Kane is ageing like a fine wine.
And that is where the release clause in his contract can come into action. Kane is said to have a £56.7m release clause in his contract with Bayern Munich. This clause is set to activate in 2026. And this makes him one of the most attainable world-class #9s in Europe.
But his priorities are quite clear. He wants to move to a side that is competing for silverware. Given that trophies have been his goals for most of his career, coming to the twilight of it, he wants to get his hands on as many as he can.
Tottenham have a chance to get Kane back

And Tottenham do have a chance, given how Daniel Levy had managed to negotiate a first refusal in the deal that took Kane to Bayern in 2023. Current head coach Thomas Frank has also publicly insisted on how he’d jump at the chance of having Kane in his roster. But as O’Rourke pointed out speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast:
“He would want to go to a club that’s going to give him the opportunity to be successful and win more trophies and honours as well.”
The likes of Chelsea and Man United have been linked with Kane in the last week. But Kane loves Tottenham, and now the Dane head coach needs to ensure that he sees a winning team when the Lilywhites put that proposal on the table.
Would you take Kane back at N17?
