“They’ll do well”- Tottenham predicted to finish in the top four under Thomas Frank

Date:

Thomas Frank wants his Tottenham team to build on last season’s Europa League success

Tottenham Hotspur appear to be on the right track under Thomas Frank, as the North London club looks to build on last season’s Europa League triumph. The Lilywhites have lost just once in their opening seven Premier League fixtures this season — a testament to the rapid progress made under the Danish tactician’s guidance. Currently sitting third in the table, Spurs trail league leaders Arsenal by just two points, signalling a genuine shift in mentality and performance at N17.

There have already been several standout displays from Frank’s side this campaign, but the most eye-catching was the stunning away win over Manchester City. Tottenham outplayed Pep Guardiola’s men at the Etihad Stadium, showcasing a level of tactical discipline and attacking fluidity that deservedly earned them all three points against the reigning champions.

However, in a surprising admission, Frank labelled the comeback draw against Brighton as Spurs’ “best performance” of the season. Despite going 2–0 down at the Amex Stadium, Tottenham fought back with resilience and belief to snatch a point late on. The spirited recovery highlighted the team’s mental toughness and refusal to accept defeat — traits that have become synonymous with Frank’s early tenure.

Tottenham should aim to finish in the European spots this season

Tottenham’s strong start has not gone unnoticed by their rivals, especially with the club’s clear ambition to secure Champions League qualification through league position this term. Building on their European success, Spurs have shown they are no longer content to simply compete — they intend to challenge across all four competitions.

After seeing how well Spurs have started off, Robbie Mustoe believes that Thomas Frank’s men might just surprise a few by ending the season on high. Speaking on NBC Sports (via X), Mustoe said,

“They can finish in the top-four. They can finish fourth. I know that it’s going to rely on others not having a good season. But that’s what happens. The bigger sides don’t all have great seasons. If everything goes well and they stay healthy, they’ll do well. Remember they’re a young, energetic, fit squad.”

Robbie Mustoe believes Tottenham possess all the key ingredients to secure a top-four finish in the league. The Lilywhites have a balanced squad, tactical structure, and youthful energy. But Mustoe admits that they may need a bit of fortune along the way if other contenders falter at some point during the season.

For now, Thomas Frank and his men should take each game as it comes and look to build a winning momentum slowly. Spurs still have a long way to go before they can consider aiming for a top-four spot in the Premier League. But if they continue to stick to their basics and perform well, then there is a high chance that they may an outside chance of surprising a few critics.
