Tottenham Hotspur are ready to go big for Georges Mikautadze
Tottenham Hotspur are said to be preparing a serious offer to bring in Georgian striker Georges Mikautadze to Hotspur Way. There has been a figure of €60 million being touted as the possible number that the North Londoners are willing to fork out to secure his signatures in 2026, as per a recent report from Fichajes.
The 24-year-old was linked with Tottenham in the recently concluded summer window, but he moved to Villarreal given that the La Liga giants redeemed on his 17 goals and 11 assists in all competitions that he recorded last season.
And while the Lilywhites are currently third in the Premier League with Dane head coach Thomas Frank enjoying a decent start to life in North London. But there is one apparent weakness in this roster, at the moment Spurs don’t have someone who can be trusted to take up that centre‑forward position and produce reliable output week in, week out.
Mikautadze is a technical #9

This is where bringing someone like Mikautadze would add depth (and quality) to the attacking options available at Thomas Frank’s disposal. It also has the capacity to bring in someone who holds the potential to start ahead of the likes of Dominic Solanke and Richarlison.
The Georgian brings that varied type of profile to the table. He is someone who is technically proficient and agile, but then he is quite clinical in front of goal. If we look at Villarreal’s official website to look at him, they have described Mikautadze as someone who “has goalscoring ability, quality, vision, and outstanding ball control.”
He also has that sense of adaptability to play on the left and cut in (much like Richy) beyond his #9 abilities.
TTLB Opinion

The fact that Tottenham are ready to pay that €60 million fee shows that the decision-makers at Hotspur Way really believe in his abilities. To put it into context, Villarreal bought Mikautadze for about €30 million earlier this year, and a move for this fee will see them double their spend in no time.
Knowing how the Lilywhites go into these things, you’d be bracing for a series of difficult negotiations with the La Liga giants.
But that being said, Tottenham do need a new #9, someone who guarantees that he brings output on a consistent basis. Do you think Mikautadze will do that if he finds himself donning that number nine at Tottenham Hotspur stadium? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
