“You’d accept that”- Jamie O’Hara lays down marker for Thomas Frank’s Tottenham; ‘consistency’ the key

Date:

Tottenham Hotspur are just a point away from the top-four places in the Premier League this season

Tottenham Hotspur, under Thomas Frank, have looked defensively solid and tactically compact against tough opponents this season. However, the Lilywhites have at times appeared overly cautious in their approach to certain Premier League fixtures, especially when they are clear favourites to take all three points. Unlike last season under Ange Postecoglou, Spurs are showing far less willingness to take risks in the final third of the pitch.

Spurs’ home form is another growing concern for Frank and his coaching staff. Following their recent defeat to Aston Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Lilywhites have now won just three of their last eighteen home matches in the Premier League. If Frank wants his side to challenge across multiple competitions this season, improving their record at N17 must become a top priority.

Thomas Frank should aim for European spots at Tottenham this season.

With fixtures coming thick and fast, Tottenham have the opportunity to put things right in the coming weeks. Despite the disappointment against Villa, the North London club still sit just a single point outside the top four.

Considering their progress compared to last season, the Lilywhites remain well-positioned for a strong finish under Frank. There is also a renewed sense of optimism around the club. Tottenham are already within touching distance of the Champions League spots, and belief is growing that Frank’s leadership has the team moving in the right direction.

Now, Jamie O’Hara has laid down a marker for Spurs this season following a positive start to the new campaign. Speaking on Sky Sports News (via X), O’Hara said,

“If we get European football, then I think you’d accept that. From where we were, you know finishing 17th last season, I want to see consistent performances. Our home form is terrible. I want to see consistency.”

O’Hara believes that securing European qualification would mark significant progress for Tottenham this season. Given the strides they have already made under Thomas Frank, his expectations are far from unrealistic. Yet, his call for consistency, particularly at home, echoes the sentiments of many supporters frustrated by the club’s struggles at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Despite criticism from sections of the media, Frank’s side remain in a strong position in the Premier League table. The Danish manager has guided Spurs to just two defeats in their opening eleven matches across all competitions. This is a notable turnaround for a team that finished just one place above the relegation zone last season.

The challenge now is maintaining that momentum. Frank has made it clear that he wants his squad to compete on every front this season, but achieving that will require sustained excellence from his players. If Tottenham can find the right balance between defensive stability and attacking intent, they could be on course for a memorable season under Thomas Frank.
