Tottenham Hotspur enter race alongside Barcelona for Hoffenheim striker Fisnik Asllani
Tottenham Hotspur have intensified their scouting of TSG Hoffenheim’s emerging striker Fisnik Asllani, entering a competitive transfer market that includes Aston Villa, Chelsea, and notably FC Barcelona. The 23-year-old Kosovo international has captured attention with his clinical finishing and tireless work ethic during the current Bundesliga term.
That is per TBR. Five goals and two assists in eight appearances this season for the striker so far. His release clause of less than €30m positions him as a feasible acquisition for the January transfer window, which will offer Tottenham an extra attacking option for the second half of the season.
He enjoyed a fruitful loan at SV Elversberg last term, where he netted 18 goals in 33 outings. This season, his contributions have propelled Hoffenheim to mid-table stability, with 22 shots and an xG value of 2.86, which is highly commendable.

Asllani to the Lilywhites?
The club’s present dynamics amplify this appeal. Tottenham’s start to the season has been inconsistent thanks to erratic results. An escalating injury toll has compounded these frailties, depleting squad depth and forcing untested rotations. Dominic Solanke, Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison, among others, continue to see themselves sidelined.
If Asllani joins in January, he could play a lot right away. With Solanke and others out, there would be space in the forward line. Asllani might start key matches in the Premier League and Champions League. This would help him settle into English football quickly. His pressing skills match Frank’s plan, which could fix some of the team’s weak spots.
Still, Barcelona poses a big threat. They see Asllani as a future replacement for Robert Lewandowski. The club has made an early offer for a summer 2026 move. They watch him closely. Asllani has said he dreams of playing for Barcelona, to add to that. Their success in the Champions League and world-class form under Hansi Flick also add a lot of appeal.
The PL offers its own grace, though. Spurs could promise him a main role from day one which he might not get at his dream club. Let’s see how things go in our pursuit of the player.
