According to a report from Sky Italia, Serie A outfit Lazio have decided to trigger a one-year extension option in the contract of midfield superstar Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The Serbian ace had been linked with a summer switch to Tottenham.
It is no secret that Jose Mourinho is an admirer of Milinkovic-Savic, given that he made an attempt to land the midfielder during his time at Manchester United. And the Portuguese was reportedly intent on signing him at Tottenham.
However, Lazio’s decision to extend his contract by another year will definitely come as a blow for Spurs. This puts the Serie A outfit in an even stronger negotiating position, meaning they are likely to demand a huge transfer fee for their star.
