Tottenham fans react to Morgan Sanson transfer update
According to a report from Le10Sport (h/t Ricky Sacks), Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the capture of Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson.
The 25-year-old has been with Marseille since January 2017 and has grown into a key player for the club. He finished the 2019/20 campaign with a decent return of five goals and assists each from 27 Ligue 1 outings.
Reports of Tottenham’s interest in Sanson two weeks ago, with super agent Pini Zahavi offering the Frenchman to the club. And now, it seems like that a transfer is imminent, with Zahavi essaying a crucial role in speeding up negotiations between the two clubs.
Not many Tottenham fans were pleased with the update though, given the history of poor signings from Ligue 1 that the club has made in recent years. And here are some of the reactions from the supporters.

Unremarkable player in an unremarkable league. Not a chance.

Hardly the Marquee signing we were hoping for!

Never heard of him. We’re better off getting someone from the Championship or League 1 🤷🏻♂️

Oh good, another unheard of French farmer to join the long list of luminaries previously signed from that league. Stambouli, NJie, Nkoudo. Have Marseille accepted our offer of £3m and KWP?

5 days later – “Spurs are not going to pursue Sanson and Mourinho will focus on developing the players he already has”… Good stuff

It goes without saying that the report needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. Furthermore, given the number of central midfielders already at Jose Mourinho’s disposal, it does seem a tad unlikely that the club will be prioritising a transfer for Sanson.
