Tottenham intensify talks for Milan Skriniar signing
According to a report from Tuttosport (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur have ramped up their efforts to sign Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar in the current transfer window.
The 25-year-old centre-back is one of the most solid and reliable defenders in Italy. The Slovakian international has been a regular in the starting XI for Inter Milan since joining in 2017.
However, he has dropped down the pecking order in recent months and the club are now ready to sell him in the summer transfer window, provided they are able to bring in a replacement. (h/t Football.london)
Tottenham are reported to be strongly interested in signing the 25-year-old Skriniar. Given the shoddy defensive performances of the team, it makes sense that Jose Mourinho is looking to bolster his defensive options.
And, considering that Jan Vertonghen also left the club upon the expiry of his contract last month, we are in desperate need of a new centre-back. Skriniar, to that end, would be an excellent addition.
A proven performer at the continental level, the Inter Milan star would slot right into the starting XI at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. His arrival would certainly add more resolve to our backline.
And, as per the report, Tottenham have intensified talks with the Nerazzurri in order to complete the signing of the Slovakian international. However, a deal is still some way off from being finalised.

There have been speculations of a swap deal involving Skriniar and Tanguy Ndombele between the two clubs. It, however, remains to be seen if there is any positive development on this front.
Spurs have completed the signings of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart this summer. More incomings should be expected in the coming days as Mourinho looks to bolster his squad ahead of his first full season at the club.
