Tottenham fully committed to keeping hold of Tanguy Ndombele
Speaking during a Q&A session on YouTube, The Athletic’s David Ornstein has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have no intentions of selling Tanguy Ndombele in the current transfer window.
The 23-year-old joined Tottenham in a club-record deal worth £54m last summer. After a promising start to life at the club, the midfielder faded as the season progressed. Injuries didn’t help his cause at all, as he completely fell out of favour under new manager Jose Mourinho.
Ndombele did not play a single game for Spurs since March and this sparked speculations that all is not well between him and the manager.
Recent reports claimed that Mourinho does not believe Ndombele has adapted well enough to the demands of the Premier League. And as a result, the club were ready to offload him before the transfer window closes. (h/t Daily Mail)
However, Ornstein has dismissed those speculations, claiming that the club is not ready to give up on the Frenchman after making such a huge investment on him only a year ago.
“What I do know is that Tottenham are committed to keeping Tanguy Ndombele. They invested heavily in him last summer and they’re not prepared to give up on him after just a year. They’re not going to sell at a loss and they’re going to try to get the best out of him.”

There are few sources more reliable on transfer stories than Ornstein out there. And if he is claiming that Tottenham will not sell Ndombele, then there must be some truth to it.
While the 23-year-old struggled in his debut season, there is plenty of potential in there. Hopefully, Mourinho is able to get the best out of him in the coming season.
