Jose Mourinho provides injury update ahead of Leeds clash

As reported by Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has issued an injury update on attacking duo Lucas Moura and Carlos Vinicius ahead of the PL clash against Leeds United.

Tottenham will face off against the Whites on Saturday afternoon on their home turf. Jose Mourinho’s men will be in action for the first time since the 1-1 draw against Wolves last weekend as the midweek game against Fulham was called off.

Having gone without a win in the last four Premier League games, it is imperative that Tottenham bounce back to winning ways this weekend. And, ahead of the game, the north Londoners have been handed a double injury boost as both Lucas Moura and Carlos Vinicius are expected to be fit for the game.

Both Lucas and Vinicius had been deemed injury doubts for the midweek game against Fulham. However, Mourinho has claimed that he will be able to count upon them when Leeds come visiting.

“I believe so, I believe they can. Of course today (Friday) we still have to train still. (A) training session before a game is always important for these little things, but I think so and I think everything going well and I expect them to be ready.”

Neither Lucas nor Vinicius have been regulars in the starting XI this term. But the importance of having quality players on the bench, who can come on and change the game, cannot be understated. So, their return is certainly a major boost for Tottenham.

Heading into the game Tottenham are seventh in the table. There’s a seven-point gap to leaders Liverpool, and a win against Leeds should help cut it down.
