Team News: Tottenham duo Serge Aurier and Dele Alli unlikely to feature against Everton

Speaking to the press (h/t Football.london), Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has revealed as a part of team news that it is far from certain if Serge Aurier and Dele Alli will make the squad to face Everton in the FA Cup fifth round.

Aurier appears to have picked up a knock during our 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion. While it is not serious, chances of him making the squad appear to be touch and go.

Despite signing Matt Doherty in the summer, the Ivorian continues to be Spurs’ best-choice at right-back. His absence could give the Irishman another opportunity to impress.

“Can he play tomorrow? I don’t know, I don’t think so.”

Meanwhile, Dele Alli has returned to training after a two-week lay off. Mourinho confirms that the player is fit but remained coy when questioned about the chances of him playing a part in the game.

“Can he play tomorrow? Well, he’s not injured but I’m not sure he can. Can he help us? I believe he can. In terms of having Dele on the bench to come for a few minutes to try to help the team, is that possible? I have to speak with him but I believe he can.”

Alli has largely had limited opportunities this season and has experienced somewhat of a fall from grace. However, he could still have a role at the club if Mourinho is to be believed. (h/t Football.london)
