Transfer News: Tottenham target Dusan Vlahovic set to sign an extension with Fiorentina
According to the Italian journalist Niccolo Misul (h/t Daily Star), Dusan Vlahovic is going to extend his current contract at Fiorentina. Despite the interest from Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, the striker will commit to the Serie A side.
The report suggests that the striker’s current deal with Fiorentina lasts until 2023, adding that Vlahovic will at least extend until 2024. The 21-year-old recently scored seven (7) goals in 34 minutes in a pre-season friendly. That would have certainly alerted his potential suitors.
However, this is not the first time there is interest for Vlahovic. The player established himself among the European clubs while playing for Partizan. The likes of Arsenal, Juventus and Anderlecht showed interest in Vlahovic since 2016. However, no such moves materialized for him back then. (The Mirror via Express)
On Dusan Vlahovic
Fiorentina signed Dusan Vlahovic in 2018. He has played 84 games for the club so far. The striker scored his first goal league for the club in the 2019/20 season and ended that campaign with 6 goals and 1 assist in Serie A.
However, he really made his mark the following season. In the 20/21 Serie A campaign, Vlahovic racked up 21 goals and 2 assists which is impressive considering he is just 21 years old playing in one of Europe’s top leagues.
Tottenham’s need for Vlahovic
Harry Kane’s future at N17 seems to be up in the air. The Englishman has been linked with a move to Manchester City this summer, and if he does leave, Spurs’ interest in Vlahovic would make all the more sense.

Since Carlos Vinicius loan deal has ended, they could look for an understudy to Harry Kane. However, it would be all the more difficult to sign Vlahovic if he does sign a new contract at Fiorentina.
