Tottenham Hotspur react furiosuly after 2-1 loss vs NS Mura in the UEFA Europa Conference League
According to the club’s official Twitter account, Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a 2-1 defeat against NS Mura in their UEFA Europa Conference League group stage game.
Spurs could have sealed qualification to the knockout stages of the first edition of the UECL on the night but have instead produced a shocker of a result. They are now tied with Vitesse Arnhem on 7 points with one matchday left.
Antonio Conte named a strong side and brought in some of the fringe players. Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli, Bryan Gil, Matt Doherty, and Ryan Sessegnon got a chance to prove their worth to the Italian boss.
Tottenham fail to qualify to the knockout stages of the UECL for now
However, it took them only 10 minutes to put their gaffer in a state of dismay. Tomi Horvat found himself in a pocket of space on the right-hand side before he turned and slammed a shot in the top right corner of Pierluigi Gollini. The shot-stopper could only watch as the ball nestled into the net.
It was then agony for Ryan Sessegnon, who was sent off in his first game under Conte within the first half itself. Tottenham failed to garner a single shot on target in the entirety of the initial 45 minutes.
Conte brought on the cavalry in parts in the second half as Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura, Eric Dier, Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, and Ben Davies came on. Our side found the equalizer soon as our captain on the night, Harry Kane, was sent through on goal by Lucas Moura.
The Englishman deftly chipped the ball over the keeper to make it 1-1. It felt like Spurs were going to find the equalizer but fate had something else planned. Amadej Marosa broke on the counter-attack in the 94th minute and twisted Davinson Sanchez inside the box before hitting a shot that was deflected, leaving Gollini in no position to save it.
This was the first victory for the Slovenian side in a major European competition. Tottenham, however, would now have to fight to stay in the competition by getting a positive result against Rennes in two weeks. Let us take a look at how our fans reacted on Twitter to the embarrassing result.

Better second half, Kane's finish class.
Lucas quality when he came on, Skipp a bright spot as ever.
No fight in this side, I know it was 9 changes but you'd think these players would want to prove themselves.
MUST win final game now. On to Sunday.

Lost to the lowest ranked side in the third tier of European competition.
If players like Dele think they are too good to be playing sides like Mura, they need to show it – week in week out.
Not turning up after the lengths our fans went to to get there is shameful
