Arsenal show the most interest to sign Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Raphinha
According to Spanish journalist Toni Juanmarti of Relevo (h/t Football.London), Arsenal are currently showing the most interest in a potential transfer for Raphinha, who is a target for Tottenham Hotspur. He has been linked with an exit from Leeds United, which could be on the cards this summer.
Both North London clubs are in the market to reinforce their forward lines ahead of a challenging season. They have identified the Brazilian international as a potential target, although the Gunners have expressed the most “intensity” at this moment. That would be a blow for Tottenham and their chances of acquiring his services.
That being said, it is stated that a transfer is far from being agreed upon at this stage which would give Spurs enough opportunities to make their impact in this pursuit. Chelsea have also been linked with a move for the 25-year-old’s signature, according to The Athletic (h/t Football.London).
Spurs must respond!
The South American had garnered an output of 11 goals and three assists from 35 appearances in the Premier League last season. That is a solid return indeed, after factoring into account how he played for Leeds, who were struggling throughout that period.
The Whites superstar’s displays for the Brazil national team indicate that he can perform at a higher level in a better system. As such, bringing him to N17 would greatly boost the quality of our frontline in our attempt to finally achieve success under Antonio Conte.
Raphinha’s ability to play well on both wings would be useful, although with Son Heung-Min and Dejan Kulusevski being in those positions, one may wonder whether the Leeds ace would accept our proposal, especially since the 2022 Qatar World Cup is on the horizon.
At the same time, spots can be freed up in those roles with Conte’s side willing to sell Lucas Moura this summer. Steven Bergwijn, meanwhile, has already expressed his desire to leave in search of consistent minutes elsewhere.

In such a case, perhaps we can convince Raphinha to join us, especially when the season is long, as rotations are necessary to deal with congested schedules and multiple competitions. Furthermore, injuries and suspensions could also open up a way for him to earn minutes, with Champions League football being an attractive proposition as well.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side would undoubtedly cause concerns due to their degree of interest, although they too have players like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli on the wings levelling the playing field for us based on that particular factor. That leaves the Blues in contention, although they are pursuing Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele as of now.
