Fabrizio Romano reveals Leicester City interest in Tottenham Hotspur target Christian Eriksen
According to Fabrizio Romano, writing in his column for Caught Offside, Leicester City have identified Christian Eriksen as a potential target amidst interest from Tottenham Hotspur. His future prospects have been subjected to talks in recent weeks, with four Premier League clubs vying for his services right now.
Eriksen is available on a free transfer at this moment, which has seen interested parties circle to get a hold of him this summer. Tottenham are one of them, but they are now joined by Leicester as well. Brendan Rodgers is a keen admirer of the midfielder, and his side have already held talks regarding a potential move.
Despite that, the Foxes are being realistic as they are pessimistic about their chances of signing Eriksen at the moment. That would be a boost for Spurs as they look to facilitate a reunion with the attacking midfielder ahead of the next season.
No concerns for Spurs?
Even if Rodger’s side are not confident about convincing the Denmark superstar, we should still keep an eye out for them to prevent any shocking outcome in the future. Then again, the former’s worries could suggest that we have a greater chance of acquiring Eriksen’s signature this summer.
That would undoubtedly be a great piece of news as the 30-year-old would be reuniting with his former manager Antonio Conte should he move to North London. Both of them are affiliated due to their time together at Inter Milan, as Eriksen played a major part in the second half of the 2020-21 campaign to help Conte lift the Scudetto title.
Perhaps, Eriksen and Conte could join forces once again in our attempt to end the long-standing trophy drought at N17. The former would also be reuniting with some of his former teammates, which would give him more incentives when it comes to accepting us this summer.
However, we should be wary of Manchester United, who are pursuing Eriksen to bolster their declined midfield. Romano further denies claims that the maestro had rejected an offer from Brentford. The proposal remains on the table as the midfielder is currently contemplating his future options.

We must do our best to beat off the competition and finalise a move for Eriksen due to his suitability in the squad. After all, we lack a creative outlet in midfield which is why we struggled to create chances at times last season. His renowned ability to pick out teammates with ease could help us solve that problem should he join us this summer.
That being said, a decision has not been made just yet, so we must do everything possible to put ourselves into contention. We would be involved in the next campaign’s Champions League, but whether that would play a role in this race or not remains to be seen.
