Richarlison talks about the chances Tottenham Hotspur have next season of winning trophies
Richarlison, who recently signed for Tottenham Hotspur, believes the team have everything needed to win a trophy next season. In his first interview as a Spurs player (via football.london), he believes the North London side will be fighting for silverware.
“Antonio Conte is putting together a great team to be able to compete in all competitions. I think we’ll be very strong in all competitions and we’ll fight for titles.”
With the side Antonio Conte is building at Tottenham currently, the team has the necessary quality throughout the squad to be challenging for titles. Squad depth is essential and Fabio Paratici is making sure we’re ready.
The Italian has had a vast and successful career in management, winning trophies with various clubs. Conte has won titles in Italy and England, including a Premier League title with Chelsea.
Our new Brazilian striker feels the gaffer will prepare them for the challenge that is about to come next season. Spurs are playing Champions League football once again. Richarlison believes “we have everything to lift a trophy”.
“The coach will prepare us very well for this because there are many competitions and now we have to be focused as much as possible. So I think we have everything to make great competitions, and in the end, we have everything to lift a trophy.”
Fans will hope the 25-year-old is right and that the team can deliver silverware to the North London crowd next season. Tottenham haven’t won a trophy since 2008. The 14-year trophy drought has been tough on spectators.
But Conte is building a strong side. In January, the team was reinforced with Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur. The former Juventus stars came into the team and immediately made a difference.
This summer, we have been able to witness a spending spree at the club. The signings made have been thoughtful and the deals have been done efficiently. The Italian in the dugout seems to have gotten the players he wanted.
Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic came through the doors first, followed by Yves Bissouma and Richarlison. Other signings are also on their way and close to being completed.
