Borussia Monchengladbach could sell Tottenham Hotspur target Marcus Thuram for £8.7

Tottenham Hotspur targetted Borussia Monchengladbach star Marcus Thuram in the summer transfer window but then shifted their attention to other positions, as per the Express.

Now, German outlet Bild (h/t the Express) reports that Monchengladbach are ready to part with him this winter instead of losing him on a free transfer in the summer window. He is, after all, in the final year of his contract with the German outfit and could be available for a bargain price of £8.7million.

Thuram has also been named in France’s 2022 FIFA World Cup squad, which could mean more potential suitors on the table in January if Thuram impresses in Qatar. This presents Spurs with a golden opportunity.

Manager Antonio Conte would be wise to rekindle the club’s interest in the player – if they have stopped keeping tabs on him. Thuram is a player who can strengthen our attack to a great extent.

Spurs to rekindle Thuram interest?

He can play as a winger as well as a centre-forward – much like Son Heung-min and Richarlison. Our injury issues up front are there for all to see during this campaign.

Perhaps one more quality attacker would do Conte a world of good. Bryan Gil and Lucas Moura have evidently lost faith in the duo when it comes to naming his starting XI.

Thuram, 25, is playing some of his best football right now. The Frenchman has scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 17 games across competitions for his club this season.

This has caught the eye of Didier Deschamps and hopefully, Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici are alerted of his contract situation. This is a bargain deal we must not miss out on.

More Tottenham Hotspur News:

It may not be easy to sign a player like Thuram given the potential interest he may generate, but Spurs would be foolish if they don’t at least throw their hat in the ring for him.
