Croatia got their World Cup preparation underway with a win over Saudi. Hoffenheim striker Andrej Kramaric scored the only game of the night.

Perisic was named by Zlatko Dalic to be part of Croatia’s squad for this World Cup. The 33-year-old came close to winning it the last time but his side ended up losing 4-2 in the final against France.

The Tottenham wing-back was named on the bench for the friendly. He saw action for the last 25 minutes when he was bought on to replace Mario Pasalic in the 65th minute.

Croatia has been named in Group F for the World Cup along with Belgium, Canada and Morocco. The east European nation could be considered favourites to qualify for the next round along with Belgium.

This is Perisic’s third consecutive World Cup. The 33-year-old has played 10 games so far for his country in the prestigious tournament, scoring five goals and assisting three in the process.

Perisic is expected to play an important part again this time for his country. The 33-year-old has been one of Tottenham’s best players this season and will likely perform well at the World Cup which starts next week.

Croatia have a good mixture of young and experienced players in their squad this time. Although they are not favourites this year, they showed their calibre in the last tournament. Maybe this time they won’t end up on the losing side if they reach the final again.
