FC Bayern Munich have casted doubts over the financial ability to complete a deal for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane

According to Manchester Evening News, FC Bayern Munich have distanced themselves from a deal for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

Bayern Munich have been rumoured with a move for a striker in the summer transfer window and Kane has been rumoured to be one of the names on the wishlist.

However, the club’s chief financial officer Dr Michael Diederich has thrown a move for the England captain into doubt and believes it would be tough to do a deal for the player.

“I don’t rule anything out but can we afford such a transfer and do we want such a transfer? We have to keep an eye on our profitability.”

Kane would be entering the last year of his current contract at the club when the season ends and till now, there have been no signs of the player looking at a contract extension.

Looking from the player’s perspective, it does make sense as to why he has been delaying the process of signing an extension with so much uncertainty surrounding the team at the moment.

There is no permanent head coach and no clear direction for the way the club is going hence for a player who has amassed huge individual numbers, he would be needing absolute security in terms of the team’s progress to sign an extension.

The situation needs to be sorted out soon as teams would be circling for Kane’s signature in the summer window and if he decides to change pastures, then it also provides us with the only opportunity to demand a big fee for the player and reinvest in the squad.

Hopefully, a situation like mentioned above does not arise and the ideal scenario of Kane staying at Spurs is completed. For that to happen, Levy needs to pull up his socks and bring the best possible solution to convince the player.
