Fabrizio Romano explains why Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is not going public with his Bayern desire
Writing in the latest The Daily Briefing column, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has explained why Harry Kane is not yet going public with his desire to leave Tottenham Hotspur and join Bayern Munich.
Bavarian giants Bayern Munich have been tirelessly manoeuvering to secure the services of the English goal machine. Throughout the summer, the club has been keen on convincing the English superstar to join the German club.
Although Bayern have been hell-bent on signing Kane this summer, Romano says that they have their contingency plans ready, should they fail to land the English superstar this summer. The club have replacements lined up.
Nevertheless, Romano emphatically asserts that the deal for Kane is not just a mirage; it is, in his words, “absolutely on.” The formidable German club, known for its relentless pursuit of excellence, remains undeterred in its quest to bring Kane into their fold.
This is despite the fact that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is not even prepared to negotiate for the sale of Harry Kane. Ultimately, he might be forced into giving an answer and Bayern are eagerly waiting.
Speaking about the situation, here is what Romano had to say about why Kane has not come out in public and asked for a move away
“Many ask why Kane is not going public with his wish to join Bayern Munich this summer, with the feeling being that it will help the move materialise; for me, I’m not sure that going public and asking for a move would be the best way to go about things. You may remember that two years ago that kind of stance didn’t work regarding the Man City move. Daniel Levy will never make a decision based on that kind of thing”
The England captain’s willingness to leave the white half of North London is evident, yet his approach is characterised by diplomacy and patience. Unlike the portrayal of a player desperate to flee his current abode, Kane’s stance reflects a more nuanced disposition.
Ultimately if things come to that, Kane might not mind staying at Tottenham. With time, we will get to know if he actually manages to secure a move to the German giants by the end of the transfer window.
