Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe reveals Tottenham star Ivan Perisic is keen to rejoin Hajduk Split
Speaking to SportKlub, Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe, a former teammate of Ivan Perisic has claimed that the Tottenham Hotspur star is keen on returning to his boyhood club Hajduk Split this summer.
The seasoned footballer, who once shared the dressing room with the enigmatic Croat during their Club Brugge days, has claimed that the Tottenham veteran made it clear that his intention was to return to his boyhood club.
Ivan Perisic, it seems, is nurturing the aspiration to retrace his steps to where his journey began – Hajduk Split. Considering his advancing age, it comes as no surprise that the former Inter Milan winger wants a return to home.
Alasdair Gold, an unmistakable name in football commentary, recently shared his insights on Perisic’s potential exit on his YouTube channel. It appears that even the eye-catching pre-season exhibitions of the experienced wingman might not suffice to tether him to the white and blue jersey.
Speaking about the situation with his former teammate, here is what Odjidja-Odoe had to say
“He (Perisic) called me while we were on the bus on the way back from Zagreb to Split. And I told him that everyone was waiting for him here. So everyone should keep working on it and I hope he will come here soon so we can enjoy and play together again”
“He didn’t promise me anything, but he said he would look into his situation. Of course, I heard that he promised the people of Split that one day he will play for Hajduk again. That is one of his dreams. I hope it will come true very soon.”
Perisic is a very talented player who can be an absolute beast on his day. He has one of the best final deliveries into the final third and there is no doubt that he will be of use to Tottenham if he decides to stay.
Understandably though, if he feels his time in Europe’s elite is done, it is best that the club allow Perisic to leave. For all his talent, he must be happy if he stays here and that does not seem to be happening.
