Barcelona contacted by Tottenham Hotspur for Ansu Fati transfer

Tottenham Hotspur have made contact with Barcelona to enquire about signing Ansu Fati in the ongoing transfer window, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

The Spain international’s future at the Blaugrana is uncertain at the moment. His situation at the Catalan outfit is one to look out for in the final days before the summer deadline.

To that end, the North London side have asked to be kept informed regarding the 20-year-old. Although, Spurs are also in discussions with Nottingham Forest for Brennan Johnson.

Apart from Tottenham, another Premier League team has also been offered the services of Fati. Chelsea were presented with the opportunity to get a hold of the youngster’s signature earlier this week.

The Spaniard made his way through the youth ranks at Barcelona before breaking onto the scene in the 2019/20 term. Initially, the forward showed immense potential at the Blaugrana.

However, injuries have hampered Fati’s development over the years. In the previous campaign, the left winger was available for the most part. But Xavi did not trust the youngster with many starts.

At Tottenham, the departure of Harry Kane this summer has left a big void in our attack. The English skipper has joined Bayern Munich, where he has continued to be prolific.

On the other hand, Spurs have had to rely on Richarlison to lead the line at the start of the new season. Unfortunately, the Brazil international has left a lot to be desired playing as the North London side’s number nine.

Therefore, we could evidently do with reinforcements up front. However, Fati has not been at his best for some time now. Thus, instead of hedging our bets on the Spaniard finding his feet at Tottenham, it would arguably be wise to pursue other targets.
