James Maddison rubs shoulders with Bellingham in quest for Euro 2024

International break is an opportunity to watch the best of England rub shoulders together in training and Gareth Southgate has been blessed with creative brilliance at his disposal. The fact that a talent likes James Maddison doesn’t get a whiff at starting for the Three Lions speaks immaculately about the talent England boasts as of now.

This is an opportunity, perhaps the last field day, for Gareth Southgate to look at the nitty-gritties of the squad and blue-print that he desires to engage in, as England prepare for the upcoming Euro 2024 championship in the summer.

The Three Lions are scheduled to face Brazil on Saturday, March 23 followed by Belgium on Tuesday, March 26 at the prestigious Wembley Stadium in a friendly in-bid to prep for the summer.

The England squad has been training together at St George’s Park ahead of both the friendlies as Tottenham midfielder James Maddison lines up shrugging shoulders among England’s best. The 27-year-old took to social media to exhibit his excitement by uploading an Instagram story linking up with Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham accompanied by a handshake and salute emoji.

Jude Bellingham is ahead of Maddison in the pecking order in England’s midfield as Southgate normally prefers Declan Rice at the base with Bellingham calling shots. Maddison is expected to start on the bench against Brazil at the weekend.
