Tottenham eyeing Sebastian Szymanski in Maddison’s position
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing an offer for Fenerbahce midfielder Sebastian Szymanski ahead of the upcoming Sumer transfer window, according to Tutto Juve.
Spurs are looking for reinforcements and are reportedly in search of a new offensively minded midfielder who oozes elegance with his creativity on the ball. James Maddison occupies such a position at N17, though the gaffer is of the opinion that bringing in another player in a similar capacity may prove beneficial to the club in the long term, especially considering how Tottenham struggled creatively when the former Leicester star was absent owing to injury.
Premier League interest in Sebastian Szymanski
Daniel Levy & Co. aren’t the only ones eyeing his services, with the 24-year-old being subject to interest from Arsenal, Manchester United, and Juventus.
Juventus are allegedly seeking midfield additions in the summer as they target the Fenerbahçe midfielder as a less expensive option than their primary target, Teun Koopmeiners.
Manchester United are seeking for a creative player to start alongside Bruno and possibly replace him over the long term. Erik ten Hag needs a creative retainer in that midfield who not only assures vertical progression but also retention to sustain pressure.
Arsenal and Mikel Arteta like creative players that have the capacity to make a large impact on the game. Szymanski could be an option if Emile Smith-Rowe leaves the Gunners this summer.
Szymanski & a potential Fenerbahce exit
Sebastian Szymanski has a contract with the Turkish giants until 2027, and Fenerbahce would not be under pressure to sell him if their financial demands are not met. The Turkish side are reportedly looking for at least €25 million to sell the Polish midfielder, although their demands may rise depending on the number of clubs in running for the 24-year-old and the initial bids they get.
