Jose Mourinho has convinced Youssef En-Nesyri to join Fenerbahce over Tottenham Hotspur
According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Jose Mourinho has convinced Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri to join Turkish giants Fenerbahce over the likes of Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs have been linked with a move for the Moroccan striker for quite some time now but a move did not materialize. He is already his nation’s top goalscorer in World Cup history and has performed admirably for Sevilla.
The 27-year-old marksman’s contract with the La Liga side ends in 2025 (Transfermarkt), less than 12 months away. The left-footed striker has not signed a new deal with Sevilla, indicating his departure this summer.
The 73-cap international star played 41 times for the Spanish side last season across all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing three assists. He has also scored 20 goals for his nation over the years.
Having spent his entire club career in Spain so far with Malaga and Leganes before Sevilla, this will be the first time the Moroccan moves abroad to play his club football. At 27, he will just be entering the prime years of his career.
Galetti has revealed that the player has agreed terms with the Turkish giants on a personal level with Jose Mourinho playing a key role in convincing him. The clubs have also reached an agreement over the transfer.
With all key aspects of the negotiations sorted out between the three parties, the only thing left would be ironing out the fine print. It would only be a matter of time before En-Nesyri gets unveiled as a Fenerbahce player.
Since losing Harry Kane to Bayern Munich last summer, the North London club have not yet signed a replacement striker and En-Nesyri would have been an interesting option to have. However, it never seemed like Spurs were ever close to the deal.

It’s time to forget about the Moroccan and focus our efforts elsewhere. Going into another season without a natural number nine might not be a wise choice. Let’s wait and see what Postecoglou & co. think about the same.
