Tottenham exploring player plus cash deal to sign Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur are trying to negotiate a deal with Aston Villa to sign talented young English midfielder Jacob Ramsey that would see Giovani Lo Celso leave the other way.

Spurs have been admirers of the 23-year-old English midfielder and want to bring him to the N17 this summer. Meanwhile, Unai Emery loves coaching Giovani Lo Celso, a player who Tottenham are willing to sell.

The Spanish tactician worked with the Argentinian Copa America winner during his time with Villarreal and would love the opportunity to reunite with him. Lo Celso played some of his best football for the Yellow Submarine.

Jacob Ramsey had a very early introduction to the limelight, breaking into the Villa first team and becoming a regular at the age of 20. However, the last couple of seasons have been a sharp learning curve for the youngster.

The 23-year-old has struggled to recapture the form that made him a household name not just for Villa fans but Premier League fans in general. However, he is still young enough to adapt and make a course correction.

Once tipped for ‘English national team captaincy’ by Unai Emery, Ramsey is yet to earn his first cap for the Three Lions. There was a time when the cap looked inevitable but the Aston Villa man will have to work hard for it now.

Giovani Lo Celso is a player who has failed to win over the Spurs faithful despite spending many seasons at the N17. He started pre-season on a high note under Ange Postecoglou but his performances could not sustain the same level.

If the two clubs can reach an agreement over the terms of this transfer, this deal represents a win-win for all parties involved. Actually, it’s a ‘win-win-win-win’ considering both players and both teams in question.
