Tottenham Hotspur target Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus
Tottenham Hotspur may closely watch out for Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic for a move to N17, with the club’s former managing director of football Fabio Paratici known to be a big fan of the Serbia striker. But North London club insider John Wenham claims that the club will pursue the Juventus star in the summer, per Tottenham Hotspur News.
The 24-year-old striker had an impressive season in Serie A with Juventus last season. He scored 18 goals and contributed three assists in 38 games across all competitions for the Italian side under Massimiliano Allegri. The Serbian joined the Italian club in 2022 from Fiorentina. He was a starter for the Italian gaffer at Juventus, and the player had his best career in Turin.
His confidence in front of goal and his 6’2 feet height helps him win the balls in aerial battles. His sharpshooting ability also makes him one of the best strikers in Serie A.
Tottenham’s former managing director of football Fabio Paratici, has been impressed with the Serbian’s performance, and as per his suggestion, the North London club has added his name to the potential striker targets list. But Spurs insider Wenham claims that the club will not pursue the star in the summer.
“He has been heavily linked with Spurs for a long time. His profile is more similar to a player like Harry Kane. He has that ability to drop deep and pick passes, so that could be an interesting one. I don’t get the impression from what I’ve seen that we’re actively pursuing him. As a result of Paratici’s recommendation, I am sure he is someone who will always be on the list. However, I don’t see us moving for him this summer.”
Will Spurs try for the Serbian striker?
“It is important to have someone to speak the same language with and Dusan is fundamental for my integration. He is the strongest striker in the championship, for me it is a fortune to be able to play with him”.
Serbian winger Filip Kostic said to Dazn (h/t Calciomercato). The countryman feels that Vlahovic is the best striker in the Serie A.
Spurs main target in the summer transfer is to sign a number nine for the club. The North London club have also targeted some strikers for the role but they haven’t signed any yet. Manager Ange Postecoglou suffered without a proper striker in the last campaign and the goal-scoring duty was completed by captain Son Hueng-min and other midfielders, where strikers like Richarlison and Timo Werner failed to net enough goals.
Ange needs a clinical striker who can score more than 20 goals for the club in the upcoming season. Spurs are casting their nets in the transfer market for their targets and they will also consider Serbian striker Vlahovic as an option for the position.
