Bryan King backs Tottenham Hotspur to tie down Mikey Moore to a new deal amidst Real Madrid interest
Speaking to Tottenham Hotspur News, ex-scout Bryan King has backed Tottenham Hotspur to tie down 16-year-old star Mikey Moore to a new contract amidst interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid.
One of the most promising youngsters coming out of the Spurs academy in recent seasons, Moore is destined to become one of the best midfielders in the future. He has already been handed a first-team debut by Ange Postecoglou.
Along with Jamie Donley, Mikey Moore is a huge talent at Hotspur Way and has understandably courted interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid. The Spanish club want to sign the player before he gets way too expensive.
However, Los Blancos are not exactly a club renowned for developing young talents. Their transfer model involves signing superstars and assembling the most envious team in the world, enabling them to win trophies.
Tottenham on the other hand, under Ange Postecoglou have shown a drastic change in transfer policy, wanting to sign youngsters with a high ceiling and trusting them with a prominent role in the first team.
Speaking about the situation, here is what King thinks about the future of 16-year-old Mikey Moore
“If that kind of interest is being generated in the player, I would imagine the club will be looking to offer him a new deal. They should be looking to offer him a three-year deal at the minimum, if not a four-year deal. That way they can see how he progresses over the next four years. I don’t think Tottenham will be too concerned though. The club aren’t going to allow him to run his current deal down. I would imagine they’re on that situation already.”
The project that Tottenham are building should be sufficient for Mikey Moore to commit his future to us, without an iota of doubt. Ange Postecoglou has already shown signs of trusting the 16-year-old and things can only get better from here.
Captain Son Heung-min called Mikey Moore a ‘hard-worker’. Getting singled out by a player of the South Korean’s stature amidst a crowd of youngsters says something about the obvious potential the player has.
