Spurs emerge as suitors for Turkish winger Baris Alper Yilmaz
Tottenham Hotspur have been looking at possibilities to sign another wide forward this transfer window as the North Londoners fortify their interest in landing Galatasaray’s versatile forward, Barış Alper Yılmaz.
The Lilywhites are looking to build on the progress at White Hart Lane in the last season and Daniel Levy would want to leave no stones unturned in ensuring Ange Postecoglou has all arsenal at his disposal by bolstering the squad with key signings and ensuring stability within the club.
Will Levy sanction the move for Yılmaz?
Spurs are looking at possibilities to sign Barış Alper Yılmaz in the summer window and they are set to launch an official offer to his signatures in the coming days, per journalist Ali Naci Küçük (as relayed by Haber Sarı Kırmızı).
The Turkish international has notched 11 goals and 14 assists during his stay in Istanbul. He played an integral role in Galatasaray’s Super Lig triumph last season; he netted seven goals and 12 assists in 55 appearances across all competitions. He joined the Turkish giants in 2021 and has since become a key component in their squad.
Alongside Spurs, Premier League rivals Manchester United have expressed interest to land the 24-year-old this summer. The Manchester Reds are also expected to put in an offer for Yılmaz in the coming days.
Galatasaray are anticipated to command at least €20 million for the Turkish international. The fact that he can play on both wings and in the number nine role makes him an interesting prospect for clubs looking to strengthen their offensive options with his versatile profile which Liverpool defender Van Dijk praises as ‘a real handful’.
