Lucas Bergvall had joined Tottenham for pre-season training
Tottenham Hotspur’s new signing Lucas Bergvall claims that his new training under manager Ange Postecoglou is effective and different from the past. The young, talented midfielder was signed from Swedish club Djurgarden in the summer, per Football London.
The teenage midfielder has impressed in the Allsvenskan for Djurgarden in the last campaign, he has scored six goals and five assists in 19 games across all competitions for the Swedish side. Bergval created waves in the Gjurgarden midfield and became one of the most valued young midfielders in the Swedish league. His impressive stint also helped the club finish second in the league table by securing Europa League qualification.
The midfielder has joined the first training session with the North London club under manager Ange, and the youngster feels positive about his new club as he claims it is a new experience for him from the past training sessions.
“It’s going really well, this is a fantastic club with amazing players and amazing staff, so I’m really happy to be here and start pre-season, Training has been really good, tough as well, so much speed and power. So, yes, it’s been tough, totally different from Sweden, but it’s fun as well. It’s a really important time for me, important to get to know everyone before the season starts so we can form that good connection.”
Bergvall said after his first training session. It is the second pre-season training session for the youngster in the year, Bergvall has already undergone four months of preparation for the Swedish season, which began in April.
Spurs will have plenty of options in the midfield
Ange will have new plans for his club in the upcoming season as he has focused on the young players, which also underscores the two new signings of the club, Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall. Both the players have already joined the club for the pre-season training.
Luca Bergvall will be a key player for Ange in the midfield for the upcoming season. The versatile player can be used in both attacking and defensive actions for the club. Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold has claimed that the teenager holds an ‘ice-cold’ mentality that can handle the intensity of the Premier League games and his game style would help Spurs in the midfield.
Ange has plenty of options in the midfield for the upcoming campaign, and he can use multiple options for Spurs. With the addition of Gray and Bergvall, Tottenham have seven players in the midfield, so the Aussie coach will rotate the starting eleven regularly in the upcoming season.
Bergvall, who lacks top-flight experience, will be initially included in the Europa League qualification matches, and potentially he can earn his spot in Ange’s Premier League eleven.
