Everton are looking to beat Tottenham in the race for Angel Gomes
Tottenham Hotspur will aim to save funds and invest wisely on new players in the summer. The Lilywhites have recruited brilliantly in recent seasons, and Daniel Levy will look to continue that same approach this summer as well. The North London club needs to generate more funds after enduring a tough domestic campaign under Ange Postecoglou.
It is fair to say that Spurs will be forced to adopt the ‘sell to buy’ policy as they have incurred huge financial losses after a disastrous Premier League season. Ange’s men sit 17th in the league table, and the Europa League is acting as the saving grace for the Australian and his team. There should be no doubt that new players are needed quickly to improve the squad immediately.

Spurs secured an expensive signing last season when they brought in Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth. The Lilywhites followed that up by bringing in Archie Gray from Leeds United. One would not be wrong to say that both players have showcased their talents at N17 this season. But Daniel Levy was forced to buy players in January as well after the squad hit an injury crisis midway through the season.
Tottenham face new competition from Everton for Lille star Ange Gomes
Tottenham are facing a massive squad overhaul in the summer. Many key players are expected to leave the club in search of pastures new once the season ends. With Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur facing an uncertain future at the club, Daniel Levy will need to bring in reinforcements in the summer to fill the void in the midfield.
Spurs are interested in signing Angel Gomes in the summer. It is believed that the England international is all set to leave Lille once his contract expires at the end of the season. Gomes has been closely monitored by Tottenham for several months now, and Daniel Levy believes that he will be the perfect replacement of James Maddison.

However, Tottenham are not the only ones vying for his signature. As per GIVEMESPORT, Everton are also keen to add the 24-year-old to their ranks as they look to bolster their midfield in the summer. David Moyes is believed to be a long-time admirer of Angel Gomes and the Toffees want the Lille star to replace the outgoing Abdoulaye Doucoure.
Daniel Levy will need to act quick if he wants to land the ex-Manchester United player in the summer. The midfielder has struggled to make an impact this season after featuring in just 20 games in competitions for Lille. He has also registered only two goals and provided a single assist for the French club this season.

Signing Angel Gomes would mean that the burden of creating chances for Ange’s side will be shared by James Maddison and the 24-year-old. The Lilywhites rely heavily on Maddison’s attacking output. So, bringing in Gomes would only benefit the Spurs No.10. The Lille star would also get to link-up with Lucas Bergvall in midfield and create chances from deep.
