Xavi is unlikely to take over from Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is under tremendous pressure to deliver silverware at N17 this season. The Australian’s job is hanging by a thread amidst all the scrutiny surrounding the club. It is certain that the end of the road is near for the 59-year-old and Daniel Levy will relieve him from his duties. The horrendous domestic form will force Levy to make the tough decision of sacking the ex-Celtic boss.
The Lilywhites sit 17th in the Premier League table. To put that into context, they are now just a place above the relegation zone, with only two games remaining. This is comfortably the worst ever season Spurs have endured in the Premier League. But, Ange Postecoglou’s men have somehow managed to find their way to the Europa League final as well.

The North London club can end its 17-year long wait for a trophy this season and bring silverware back to N17. Big Ange now has the chance of keeping his promise of winning a trophy in his second season at a club. Many fans believe that it might still not be enough for the ex-Celtic boss to keep his place at the helm for next season.
Pundit believes Ange Postecoglou will be replaced at Tottenham
Daniel Levy has already started looking at managerial replacements for next season. The Lilywhites are preparing for a fresh start under a new manager once the current season ends. Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola, Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, and ex-Barcelona coach Xavi are all linked with a move to N17.
Now, Richard Keys has given his verdict on the future of Ange Postecoglou. The renowned pundit said on The Richard Keys Blog,
“Even if he wins the Europa League, Ange can’t survive now. I heard from a really good source last week Spurs have spoken with Xavi. That makes a lot of sense. Sadly, for Spurs I’m also told he’s not ready to return to coaching yet.”

Richard Keys pointed out that Tottenham are 17th in the Premier League. The pundit also suggested that winning the Europa League might not be enough for Ange Postecoglou to save his job. Keys also insisted that Spurs are going to face a massive blow in their pursuit of ex-Barcelona coach Xavi, as the Spaniard is not ready to return to coaching yet.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Ange Postecoglou was given the task of winning the Europa League if he wanted to save his job. However, it looks increasingly likely that the Australian might still get sacked due to the disastrous domestic campaign. The results in the Premier League have just not improved, and Spurs are all set to register their lowest ever league finish.

Big Ange still has the chance of ending the season on a high. His side can still go all the way and win Tottenham’s first European trophy in 41 years. Winning the Europa League would also mean that Spurs would participate in the Champions League next season. They would also be able to attract new players to the club and end their trophy drought in spectacular fashion.
