Tottenham could get Bellingham boost this week with German club set to miss out

Borussia Dortmund failing to qualify for the Champions League could hand Tottenham big boost to land Jobe Bellingham this summer
Tottenham Hotspur have changed their recruitment policy in recent years. They have shifted from throwing money on experienced players with no resale value to signing highly-regarded prospects with room to develop in the future.
The signings of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall are testament to that, as the Lilywhites aims to build a team for the future. Chairman Daniel Levy has done a good job in changing the transfer policy, and Ange Postecoglou has compounded on it by handing the young talents minutes at the club since arriving in 2023.
A lot of things have gone wrong for Spurs this season. But fans will be happy to see that Ange Postecoglou and the club bosses are trusting young players to make an impact on the pitch and continue their development.

Nonetheless, Tottenham need to bring in reinforcements in the summer if they want to challenge at the top end of the table next season. With Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma on course to enter the final year of their contracts and interestingly both linked with exits, Daniel Levy must bring in quality replacements to bolster the midfield department.
The North London club are interested in signing Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham. He has been a valuable player for Sunderland this season. The young gun has registered four goals and three assists in 42 appearances, helping Sunderland beat Coventry City 3-2 on aggregate and reach the Championship play-off final.
Impressed by his performances in the Championship, Tottenham want to bring Jobe Bellingham to N17 this summer. According to an exclusive report from Football Insider, Spurs could receive a boost in their pursuit of Bellingham should Borussia Dortmund fail to secure Champions League football.

Borussia Dortmund are also interested in the teenage prodigy from Sunderland, but without Champions League football, they may struggle to meet the player’s mooted valuation £25million during the summer transfer window. They currently lie fifth in the Bundesliga table ahead of their final game of the season against relegated Holstein Kiel on Saturday.
Niko Kovac’s side are just a point below SC Freiburg in fourth. Dortmund will also be dependant on SC Freiburg’s result on the final day of the season, with Julian Schuster’s side up against Eintracht Frankfurt at home. Should Dortmund fail to beat Holstein Kiel, Spurs will get the required boost to land Bellingham, although they will still face competition from Premier League rivals Manchester United and Crystal Palace.

Bellingham is highly rated across English football and has taken positive strides in his game this season under the leadership of Regis Le Bris. Given his age and profile, the England youth international will be an ideal signing for Tottenham. He will get time to develop and there would be no external pressure for consistent performances at the start.
Capable of operating in multiple positions across the midfield, Bellingham at £25million would represent a sensational long-term investment for Spurs. However, should Sunderland win the play-off final and subsequently achieve top-flight promotion, it would be difficult for the North Londoners to tempt him away to N17.
