“He should go”- Tottenham urged to sack ‘stubborn’ Ange Postecoglou

Ange Postecoglou is facing the heat at Tottenham this season
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is on the verge of creating history at N17 this season. The Lilywhites have managed to reach within touching distance of winning the Europa League and ending the club’s long-standing trophy drought. They now face Manchester United in the final, a team Ange’s men have already beaten thrice in all competitions this season.
It is a fine line between calling this season a failure or a success. If Spurs manage to lose the upcoming game against the Red Devils, then this season will be remembered as one of the worst campaigns in the club’s modern history. But, if Tottenham manage to lift the Europa League trophy, then it will easily be considered as one of the greatest campaigns in the club’s modern history.

But nothing can justify the failures in the Premier League this season. The Lilywhites are sitting 17th in the league table and have already registered 21 losses in the league. It was reported earlier that Daniel Levy would sack Ange Postecoglou once the season ended, irrespective of the outcome in the Europa League final. The lack of positive results in domestic competitions might just be the reason why Big Ange will not be at the helm next season.
Jamie O’Hara wants Tottenham to replace Ange Postecoglou
There is a complete contrast between Tottenham’s domestic campaign and their European journey. The Lilywhites have showed a lot of fight and grit in the Europa League. Whereas, Ange’s men have just let the game go by in the domestic competitions. The willingness to turn the fortunes around in the Premier League is clearly missing and fans have also shown their frustrations regarding the mediocrity on display.
Now, Jamie O’Hara has also urged Tottenham to sack Ange Postecoglou once the season ends. Speaking to the Daily Mail (via TBR Football), O’Hara said,
“When he came in, I really liked him. The style of football was great. I think he got found out as a manager. In terms of the tactics, he was very stubborn, he wasn’t willing to adapt, but in the Europa League, he has adapted and played a bit more defensive football.”

The former Spurs player added,
“I don’t necessarily think he’s the answer for Spurs, because I think the mentality of losing in the Premier League has become a problem. So I think after this, if we do win, he should still go.”
Jamie O’Hara has suggested that Tottenham’s style of football was great when Ange Postecoglou first came into the club. But every team eventually figured out the setup and Big Ange failed to adapt or change his style. The former Spurs player then insisted that Ange Postecoglou is not the answer for the club’s problems as his team have a mentality of losing in the Premier League. O’Hara then urged Tottenham to sack the Australian if they wanted to succeed in domestic competitions.
Daniel Levy has already started looking for potential managers that could lead the team next season and start a new era at N17. Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner and former Ajax boss Francesco Farioli are two leading candidates to replace Ange Postecoglou at the helm in the summer.

Fans will hope that Levy takes the right decision regarding the managerial situation. And if this is to be the end of the road for Big Ange, then he still has the chance of ending the season on a high and give fans a lasting memory of winning the Europa League. Winning the competition would also ensure the much-needed Champions League qualification for next season. That will give Spurs a good platform to build on.
