OGC Nice set €28m asking price for 23G/A striker amid Tottenham interest

Tottenham have revived their interest in OGC Nice star Evann Guessand
After a turbulent Premier League season that saw Tottenham Hotspur finish above the relegation zone in the Premier League, their Europa League triumph has secured a spot in next season’s Champions League.
Whether Ange Postecoglou stays at the club for the third season running remains to be seen, but anyone at the helm would require fresh blood in the squad to aim for a higher finish in the Premier League next season. Spurs decided to break their club transfer record for Dominic Solanke last summer, and after a debut campaign that yielded 16 goals and eight assists in 45 appearances, the club bosses could look add a bit more firepower.
And it looks like the North Londoners have revived their interest in Evann Guessand. According to French outlet Fraternite Matin (h/t Sport Witness), Tottenham are keen on signing OGC Nice striker Evann Guessand this summer. The Ligue 1 outfit have set a €28m asking price on him.

Evann Guessand has enjoyed a strong 2024/25 season in OGC Nice colours, netting 13 goals and registering 10 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions. He has been the club’s top scorer this term, and after three seasons with Nice, he is open for a fresh challenge and testing him to a new league.
The aforementioned report (h/t Sport Witness) adds Tottenham appreciate the Ivory Coast international’s profile and versatile nature to operate anywhere across the frontline.
Spurs have struggled to find a consistent source of goals this past season as many attackers have underperformed massively. With Richarlison heading for the exit doors in the summer, Daniel Levy is hoping to bring in a versatile forward into the squad to fill the attacking void left behind by the Brazilian.

Guessand, in that regard, would fit the bill perfectly at White Hart Lane. The France-born Ivorian would add a different dimension to the Tottenham attack with his directness, speed and physicality. He would be a strong option to bring off the bench, especially against tiring defenders with his pace and dynamism capable of causing problems. Coming off a strong season in Ligue 1, he’d be high in confidence to make an impact at Tottenham if a deal goes through.

Transitioning from Ligue 1 to Premier League could be difficult, though. We have seen players struggle to adapt to the demands of Premier League football, so Guessand should be given time to get used to the English surroundings. All in all, available for a reported €28m, our club bosses must not hesitate to go all out for the Nice star’s signature.
